What we do

Mobile Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)

No Transportation Needed

And at a fraction of the cost of a MBS! No need to transport patients for radiology appointments. Easily completed on medically fragile/complex and bariatric patients at patient’s bedside or location of choice with natural foods, no barium needed. If we can’t pass, the patient is not charged for the procedure.

Comprehensive Evaluation

FEES does not only to determine what happens when you swallow but why. We will be able to determine if food or liquid is going into your airway or getting stuck when you swallow. We can also assess your management of secretions. We will explain the results of the test as soon as the FEES is completed. Feel free to ask your clinician questions at any time before, during or after the exam.

Evidence Based Gold Standard

Bedside swallow evaluations can be inaccurate in up to 70% of cases with the patient either put on too restrictive of a diet or silent aspiration is missed and the patient is at risk for developing aspiration pneumonia.

Safe and Effective

The risk for complication is very minimal with FEES. There is occasional slight discomfort as the tube is inserted. Research has been completed using FEES for decades with very low risk of complications, less than 1%.

Vocal Tract Visualization and Screening

What is it?

Vocal tract imaging via endoscopy is a technique that allows speech-language pathologists (SLPs) to see inside the throat and voice box (larynx) using a small camera. This gives a detailed view of how the structures of the vocal tract move and function during speaking, breathing, or swallowing.

Why?

Endoscopic imaging helps SLPs: Assess and screen for voice disorders (e.g., hoarseness, nodules, polyps), evaluate resonance disorders (e.g., velopharyngeal dysfunction), monitor airway and swallowing function, and guide treatment plans and therapy progress

Key Benefits

With direct visualization, clinicians can see exactly how the vocal folds and related structures are working. Video recordings provide measurable evidence for diagnosis and treatment. Individuals can see their own anatomy, which often increases understanding and motivation in therapy.

What we need

  • Doctors order/referral (optional for private pay)

  • Consent form

  • Space to complete the study

  • Treating SLP or assistant for FEES

  • Dentures in place if patient normally wears them
